After graduating UMiami in 2008 with a BFA in Acting, Alex moved to New York where he acted in several off-broadway shows, a couple of feature and short films, as well as a few commercials.

In 2013, he moved home to Philadelphia where he switched to the other side of the camera and spent 6 years working in Branded Content at Short Order Production House, where he did many things from directing and producing to managing the biggest clients and accounts. In 2019, he left Short Order, having risen to the role of Managing Executive Producer, to embark on a new venture.

Alex is currently the co-founding President and Executive Director at Of Substance, an innovative nonprofit that makes premium entertaining short films about addiction to help all those touched by substance misuse overcome the shame, blame, and stigma of the struggle. They're turning immersive cinema - mini-movies you really like watching, from rom-coms to thrillers - into an approachable and captivating tool for behavioral change. Of Substance is reimagining cinema as a tool that accelerates education, treatment, and more through an emotional learning experience we can all enjoy. (OfSubstance.org)
